Attorney Dennis McHugh, a native of Chelmsford,
earned his degree from Harvard
College in 1970 and then served in Vietnam as a
naval officer. Following his service, Attorney McHugh completed his education
at Suffolk University, graduating with honors in
1976.
Attorney McHugh has practiced in Chelmsford since 1976. The office specializes
in civil matters, including estate planning, elder law, business, personal
injury, probate and real estate. Attorney McHugh has been an active real
estate practitioner for almost thirty years and is an issuing title insurance
agent for two national title insurance companies. He is a member of the
National Association of Elder Law Attorneys [NAELA] and is an active elder law
attorney, representing clients in appeals to the Department of Medical
Assistance and to the Superior Court. Attorney McHugh is also a Charles
Schwab Trust Advisor and speaks regularly at seminars sponsored by A. G.
Edwards representatives and the bar association.
As a citizen and community leader, Attorney McHugh
has served in a variety of positions. He has held the elected position of Town
Meeting Moderator since 1980 and served as Library Trustee from 1977 to 1980.
In addition, he has served on the Board of Directors or as President of numerous
civic and business groups including the Chelmsford Scholarship Fund, Inc.,
Chelmsford Rotary Club, Chelmsford Cultural Council, Chelmsford High School
Alumni Association, the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, and the Greater Lowell
Home Builders' Association.
